Postcode Publications has pledged £1,500 towards fund-raising for renewal of the once moveable but now seized ‘Venentian blind’ type louvres to St Faiths bell-tower. They look tired against the renewed clock faces and the gleaming gilded weathervane restored with funding from Postcode Publications, and are no longer capable of being opened and closed.
The renewed timber louvres will allow their closure during bell-ringing practice thereby muffling the sound of the bells that some residents find intrusive.
