Probus Club of Havant

The popular world wide group of Probus Clubs, exists for the retired or semi-retired PROfessional and/or BUSiness person.

In the past few weeks, the Members of Probus Club of Havant have enjoyed after lunch speakers at their monthly meetings, on the Tales of a Roving Reporter, and the story of the re-Roofing of Chichester Cathedral, currently under way changing the roof from copper to lead (losing its green colour!)

In addition a visit was organised to The Pompey Pals Project based at Fort Widley, an impressive collection of World War 1 & 2 military equipment, based around on the history of the local Portsmouth recruits.

We then visited the Civil Defence Bunker buried within the Fort. A chilling reminder of the Cold War.

A number of other outings, including visits and lunches at other local locations are also planned. The Probus Club of Havant has members from Havant, Hayling Island, Chichester, Emsworth etc. Members come from a broad background of  banking, military, business, engineering , IT, local government etc.

New members are always welcomed.
