AIR AMBULANCE TO DEPLOY INTERIM EUROCOPTER 135

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be operating an enhanced model of the familiar Eurocopter 135 with effect from June 2014,.

Branding and conversion work has already begun on the new helicopter

In the interim, as part of Bond Air Service’s re-positioning of aircraft within their fleet, from Thursday 27th February, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be operating another Eurocopter 135 .

The helicopter will carry the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance logo and branding. However, the eagle eyed may spot that it looks slightly different from the usual branding that has become such a familiar sight across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and that will return to service in June 2014.

Tony Nicholson , Chairman of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance commented “We are very happy to have been able to arrange this with our partner, Bond Air Services. The trustees are committed to a path of continuous development and this move is the next step. Everything that helps our crews to deliver this vital service has to be good news for all those who depend on us”.

CHOOSE YELLOW CLOTHING BANKS

We know there is a lot of choice when it comes to taking your unwanted clothing to be recycled, but Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance would like to remind you to choose the yellow clothing banks when it comes to discarding your old garments and support your local Air Ambulance.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance works with recycling partner ‘Bag It Up’ Ltd who collect unwanted shoes and textiles and then convert them into money for the Air Ambulance. They can even make use of old worn-out shoes and garments which are damaged. Simply bag them up and then put them in the charity’s yellow textile banks across the county.

The charity has been working with ‘Bag It Up’ Ltd on increasing the number of textile bank locations to ensure that people have more chance of using their recycling banks over other banks that are available.

John Perry, Chief Executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance said ‘We would like to remind people that supporting your Air Ambulance can be achieved in many ways and just by choosing to use our textile banks to recycle your clothing is a great place to start. ’

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies solely on the generosity of the public to maintain its service. The Air Ambulance requires in excess of £125,000 each month which is why the kindness of people’s donations really makes a big difference and helps to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
