Raising Money For Your local Havant & District Citizens Advice Bureau
On the evening of September 9th, local law firms, Citizens Advice Bureaux and other local organisations together with family and friends are taking part in the Chichester Legal Walk – a 10k sponsored walk around Chichester – to raise money for 3 local Citizens Advice Bureaux – Arun & Chichester CAB, Central and South Sussex CAB , and our own local Havant & District CAB.
Cuts in free legal advice since 2013 and local government funding cuts have put increased pressure on Citizens Advice Bureaux to help people to navigate the legal system, enforce their rights and get the justice they deserve. Havant & District bureau helped over 4000 clients last year and although some limited funding is provided from the local council, sponsorship and financial support from a wide range of sources is needed now to enable the bureau to provide the service that the local community needs.
