In total, thanks to the tremendous efforts of large numbers of students, parents/carers and staff, 50% of students studying at Havant Academy achieved 5 or more GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths; results show an improvement of 9% from last year.

Impressive results were achieved by Year 11 across the board, notably in English and Maths. In English 70% of students achieved an A*-C ; the number of students making exceptional progress is also remarkable as 86% made three levels of progress with 56% making 4 levels of progress. This places Havant Academy well above national average and one of the top performing schools in the country for progress made in English - truly remarkable! In Maths 58% of students achieved an A*-C which is in line with national average (2013). Many thanks go to all students, staff and parents for their continued support.

“What Havant Academy has achieved this academic year is impressive. When the Class of 2014 were in Year 7 the pass rate of 5 A*-C including English and Mathematics at the predecessor school was 10%, it is now at 50% and the best in the Academy’s history – truly remarkable! It is heartening to see how all the hard work carried out by students, staff and parents/ carers has resulted in fantastic outcomes!

It is superb to see the delight in so many students’ faces when they see their results for the first time. Today is a very special day for our Academy and we are proud of the achievements of all our students. The staff at Havant Academy work incredibly hard to ensure that every one of our students has the best possible chance to succeed, so we enjoy days like this when we are able to celebrate their achievements with them. The 9% increase in the number of our students achieving 5 good passes at GCSE including English and Mathematics is a very rewarding way to end this academic year; it encourages us to continue with our very clear focus on high quality teaching and learning.
