HAYLING COLLEGE A Place in the World Challenge

Imogen Gervasoni, Sarah Mann, Megan Summers and Holly Trainor from The Hayling College all took part in a business, languages and enterprise challenge run by EBP this month. They had to create a company which relocates families abroad. The research which they began in November was extensive and ranged from understanding how mortgages work, sourcing a suitable house in Spain and communicating with Spanish companies. They set up their own company which they called Olé and designed a website, logo and developed a business plan.

The final challenge was to present their company in Spanish to a panel of multilingual judges. The girls worked extremely hard to compete against thirteen other schools and gain a place in the final as the standard of presentations was extremely high. Not only did the girls go on to win the final, beating teams from Portsmouth High School and Cams Hill (who were the winning school last year) they also won an award for the quality of their presentation skills.
