Help to Buy leads to a spacious new home for Laura and Chris at Windmill View

A spacious and modern new home close to the delights of countryside, coast and all local amenities, are the perfect mix - according to Laura Beswarick and Chris Nickson.

The family recently moved into their new four bedroom house at David Wilson Homes’ Windmill View in Clanfield - and they couldn’t be happier.

“We’re both from Hampshire - but were renting a three bedroom cottage in a pretty village close to Bishop’s Waltham,” said Laura. “It was a fantastic location but Chris had a hefty commute to work at Gatwick.

“We wanted to move but kind of got stuck in a rut because we loved the standard of home we were renting and knew we’d need to save a huge deposit if we wanted to buy anything similar. Then we spoke to David Wilson Homes at Windmill View.”

Built against the backdrop of the beautiful South Downs National Park, the development offers an impressive selection of four and five bedroom homes - all available under the Government-funded Help to Buy scheme.

Under Help to Buy, people can own their new home with just a 5 percent deposit and a 20 percent equity loan. It is available on all new-builds in England under £600,000 for first time buyers and those moving up the property ladder.

“Using the scheme meant we could own our new four bedroom Holden home without having to save for a long time,” added Laura. “It is a wonderful place to bring up our family. Everything is pristine and squeaky clean, and the surrounding area is fantastic too - with shops, doctors and schools close by. We can even see the South Downs from our window and the seaside is just down the road.”

Ideally located close to the village centre, Windmill View is a short distance from Petersfield and Waterlooville, with easy access to the A3 and excellent links to London. It is the perfect rural retreat for commuters looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

“Chris’ commute to Gatwick is now so much easier - and we love popping into nearby Petersfield for the market there,” said Laura. “It’s just a fantastic place to live. We can’t thank the David Wilson Homes team enough for everything they’ve done, from sales to aftercare, the service we’ve had has been great.”

David Wilson Homes sales director Michelle Storer is keen to point out the advantages of Help to Buy for anyone keen to move from a rented home into their own property: “This is an excellent example of how this scheme works so well for those who have become accustomed to a certain standard of home but feel it’s impossible to buy anything similar because of the sheer size of deposit required.

“Help to Buy has certainly worked well for Laura and Chris - and I wish them many happy years in their new home at Windmill View.”
