Our Tudor Experience

Written by Thea Palmer-Bailey, Year 6 Journalist Club

The lucky Year 5 pupils at Mill Rythe Junior School have experienced another amazing Tudor Day. The whole year group went back over five hundred years into the Tudor era and dressed up in wonderful costumes to really get into character. The children took part in a variety of Tudor activities and later on performed to their parents to show their work and fabulous Tudor dancing.

One of the highlights of the day was a Tudor banquet with different types of food and drink. “I really liked the Tudor banquet because I got to try new foods,’ commented Sophie Vinell, a Year 5 pupil. The School hall was an excellent venue for such a fantastic event, it was decorated with Tudor shields that the children had designed and made themselves.

A favourite part of the day for many children was showing off their work to their parents, and entertaining them with songs and dances. We are sure that our parents learned a lot from our presentations!
