Queen’s Inclosure Primary School Summer Fayre

Basking in glorious sunshine, Queen’s Inclosure Primary School held its Summer Fayre on Saturday 11th July 2015. Annual favourites such as Hooka- Duck, Jar Tombola and the Coconut Shy featured amongst a record number of private stalls offering a wide selection of quality goods.

Those in need of food or drink had the choice of cream teas, burgers, ice cream, cupcakes, candyfloss or, ever popular, the Pimms tent. The central arena hosted Gemz Dancers, Miss Packham’s singers, Dog Agility and the fantastic Lee Pashley and Lianne King singing a variety of songs. Hits from the movie ‘Frozen’ were particularly popular with younger members of the audience.

As well as an ambulance in case of medical emergency, representatives from our local police force were present, enjoying the proceedings and making quite sure that pocket money was safe!

Smiles were abundant, the sun shone and £2904 was raised to further enhance the school’s outdoor environment. Set in the last remnant of the ancient Forest of Bere, Queen’s Inclosure, celebrating its 25th anniversary, has always benefited from spacious and attractive grounds. The most recent years have seen the addition of a large gazebo, a sun dial, a fully-sheltered outdoor classroom, willow arbours to provide shade during play and earth looms to encourage creativity.
