WW1 commemoration and teambuilding day

Service children and their friends from across Portsmouth and East Hampshire joined forces for a WW1 commemoration day at Fort Purbrook.

Around 200 youngsters took part in the day – designed to commemorate those lost in WW1 and develop team building skills.

One of the activities, run by Barratt Homes, involved teams racing against the clock to wrap one of its students in newspaper – something community liaison manager Anthony Dimmick said had tested the students’ organisational skills – as well as providing plenty of laughs.

“We were pleased to be involved in such a great WW1 commemoration event and think that the children really enjoyed the team building element of the day,’’ he said.

“Barratt is a keen supporter of the armed forces and their families and support of this event reinforces our admiration for anyone who has ever served their country.’’

Barratt developments offers a dedicated discount to armed forces personnel.
