It was great to welcome back all our staff and students to the school after such a long absence and as you would expect there was excitement, anticipation and some nerves which were soon dispelled after catching up with friends.
The School had been Covid testing all the staff, throughout the lockdown, who were in looking after our keyworker students, but this was ramped up to include testing of all students at least 3 times as announced by the Government. As you can imagine the students showed how mature they could be throughout the testing process and we finally completed our mass testing on Wednesday 24th March. Its estimated we have completed over 2500 tests!
Now it’s down to the parents and carers to assist the students with their home testing kits!
Our Year 11 students started their PPE’s (GCSE mocks) which continues for three weeks. This process is critical for their final Teacher Assessed Grades for their final results.
‘I would like to say a massive well done to our Year 11 students for their mature approach to their PPEs that started last week (Friday 12 March). You literally hit the ground running as you started your exams days after returning to school. Your behaviour and commitment has been brilliant. Our Invigilators have been commenting each day on how great you have all been. We understand that it isn’t an easy time for you but you are taking it all in your stride and doing your best to ensure you get the grade you deserve. Thank you from myself, the Invigilators and on behalf of the whole school staff, we are all very proud of you!
Keep it up! You can do it!’
