On a fine sunny Sunday in September, Southbourne Bowls Club had their Club Finals Day and everyone enjoyed the bowling. Of particular note was the Longley Cup which this year was between Curtis Harrison and winner Paul Barker.
The Men’s 4 wood Pairs was also a very close match with Pete Jasinski and Dave Alner only clinching victory on the last end against Jim Spivey and Robin Armstrong. Antony Bull for the 2nd year running was the winner against Ray Leggett of the Men’s Singles and this gives him another chance to win the Sussex County Champion of Champions for which last year he was runner up.
Many thanks go to Irene Jennings and Pete Jasinski for organising the Club Competitions this year. Thanks also to other members who officiated at the Finals to help make it a successful and enjoyable day. The results are:
