Victory Athletic Club

Victory Athletic ClubVictory Athletic Club is an active running club based in Havant. It provides jogging and running for its near 200 members. The Club meets for training sessions at Havant Leisure Centre on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The training sessions start at 6:30 pm on Tuesdays for informal 'let's go for a run/jog' type sessions and at 6.00 pm on Thursdays. The Thursday sessions are normally taken by a SEAA qualified coach. As well as these varied training sessions there are club competitions and opportunities to run for the club in regional team events.

There are a number of closed to club 'handicap' races during the summer months. These give members the chance to compete as equally as possible. In addition Victory AC competes in both on and off road events. These range from the Hampshire Cross Country League and the 'Today's Runner' Cross-Country League to traditional road races such as the Stubbington 10K and the Great South Run. Pictured is Victory AC member Zack Lahlal winning the prestigious Bupa 5k at the Great South Run weekend in October 2014 in a time of 15mins 46 secs.

Victory AC also stages the open annual Hayling Billy 5 mile trail race and Junior runs. This years 18th running of the event was held on the evening of 10 June. All the proceeds of this years’ event will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Kids charity. The previous 17 years of running this event has seen Victory AC raise over £21,000 for local charities.
