THALI ARRIVES AT BAY OF BENGAL HAYLING ISLAND

Bay of BengalBay of BengalThali is an Indian style round platter with a selection of dishes which gives you an opportunity to try various curries, rice and chutneys - it is rather like an “Indian tapas” This smart Restaurant is owned and run by Soju Miah and his three sons Rubel, Ruhel and Rayhan. Ruhel said “we wanted to widen our menu to give customers the chance to sample various curries and a Thali is the perfect way to do this. We are offering either a vegetable or meat Thali which will be freshly cooked – the vegetable Thali comprises Vegetable Shatkora, Vegetable Dhansak, SagAlloo, Rice and Nan and the meat Thali offers Chicken Tikka Shatkora, Special Lamb Bhoona, Mushroom Bargee, Mushroom Rice and Garlic Nan. Our visit was on a cold and misty Tuesday night and we were warmly greeted by the family. We sampled their signature Thali’s – what I really liked was the opportunity to taste different curries which was far better in a Thali format rather than ordering a bowl of a particular curry and then finding you don’t like it or it is too hot or spicy. It also generates a social atmosphere in the same way as eating in a tapas restaurant. “We are fully licensed and can cater for anybody with dietary requirements - what we really want is our patrons to sample our freshly cooked food and experience the special spices we use” We heartily endorse his aims and thoroughly recommend a visit this restaurant and meet the Miah family.
