Havant Literary Festival

Poetry Competition Launched

With a first prize of £400 and three others, including a new special award for the best poem by a so far unpublished poet, the eagerly awaited 9th annual Havant Poetry Competition is now open for entries.

This year's adjudicator is the much admired poet and lecturer, Stephanie Norgate (pictured right). The theme is The Wild.

Full details and an entry form can be found in due course at: havantlitfest@gmail.com. For the first time we have arranged for you to pay on-line and submit entries by email.

The presentation and readings from this year's competition will take pace at the South Downs Poetry Festival in July.

The deadline for entries is Friday 17 June. Anyone may enter, but poems must be original, previously unpublished and limited to a maximum of 40 lines. You can enter as many poems as you like. Entries cost £4 per poem by post and £4.50 if made on-line.
