Open Studios at Local Craft Organisation

Making SpaceAs spring comes around, we all tend to feel creative, want to try different things and discover something new. For those that are seeking some creative inspiration help is at hand.

Making Space, a local craft organisation based in Havant, is a creative hub that has been busy over the last eight years raising it’s profile by running hundreds of craft workshops and hosting artist events. It is also the base for some of the area’s most talented makers.

If you’ve never heard of Making Space before now’s the time to find out all about them, and in May they are giving you the perfect opportunity. The organisation will be opening its doors during the annual May Days Art Trail and inviting you to come and have a look around. Open Studios will take place on the weekend of the 16 and 17 May 2015, 11am-4pm each day.

Making Space is a unique arts organisation, which boasts two inspiring teaching spaces and seven individual artist studios. During Open Studios you will be able to meet some of the tenants, browse the studios and chat to different makers about their work and practice. You’ll also have a unique opportunity to buy directly from artists and makers.

In addition, Making Space will be showcasing a variety of community and outreach projects that have taken place throughout the year, and will be showing off some of the incredible work they have done with individual artists’ projects

Want to find out more? Visit the Making Space website – www.makingspace.org or just drop in during the open weekend. It’s free to attend, with free parking to the rear of the building and refreshments available.
